Its finally 2009! Ready for the new challenge?
So, school is gonna reopen tomorrow, you're gonna see new faces in your new classes.
Maybe all of you won't get use to the quietness in your new classes,
cause 1e5/2e5 is forever noisy, haha.
Okay, some of you might be like ''Sian, need go back to school, hais.''
I got a few things to make all of you feel more excited to go to school.
1) Theres sec3 camp next year!
2) You finally get to see all your friends that you've not been seeing!
3) You're in a new class which means new adventure!
4) You're studying new stuffs and maybe even subjects that you like!
5) You're finally known as 'Upper sec' and during assembly, you don't have
to squeeze at the you-know-where!
6) You're gonna make new friends!
7) Boys finally got to wear long pants!

Merry Christmas everyone!
Firstly, sorry for the lack of updates, I know this blog is kind of dead.
Yah, so here I am to revive the blog.
But I'm glad to see that the tagboard is not that dead yet, do continue to tag more!
So, school is reopening in a few days time.
Ready for the new upcoming year?
Its gonna be much more tougher than sec2, so you can't afford to slack.
Hey, do buck up everybody! Actually, its not difficult to be a good student.
1) You just have to do your homework and hand it on time.
2) Revise your notes when you know theres a test coming up.
3) Pay attention during class and don't sleep/sms/talk etcetc.
4) Ask questions when you're in doubt, you know the teacher is there,
they get their pay so why don't make full use of them right? (:

I hope all this helps, its actually useful if you really follow it.
Its there but its up to you whether you wanna follow it or not.
Get all this into your brains before you start your new sec3 lifes okay?
Keep this in mind and always remember it. (:
Andand! Will everybody still go to the fitness corner during the first day of school?
Hopefully, everybody will still go there alright.
Although we're separated into different classes, but our bonding will still be there.

Updates on Class BBQ.
Hello all, i know its been awhile, so here to update you guys on our last and final class bbq Yea. Alright so..

Date: 2nd December 2008.
Time: 2pm- 8pm ( You may choose to stay longer, but you may leave after 8pm.)
Venue: East Coast Park.
Pit number: 27C.
Attire: Strongly advice to wear class tshirt as it would be our last time together as a class.

Yea, so i guess that's all you need to know. Do not ask me what things do you need to bring on the day, common sense would tell you so. Hope to see most of you guys down there.
Ps* remember not to bring any strangers to this bbq, i don't wish this year's bbq to turn out like last year's. Thank you for your cooperation.

Streaming Results.

Hello guys! Sorry for the lack of updates recetly.
1000 apologies, haha, didn't know what to update.
Anyway, I guess everybody got back your streaming results already.
So, how was it?
Are you statified with it? Disappointed in it? Or you don't care anymore.
Of course, I hope all of you are statisfied with it.
And for those who are sad or disappointed with it, do cheer up okay!
You can appeal to a better class or not just accept the fact that you're in that class.
I really hope that after all of you go to sec3, all of you will work hard okay.
Its not like this year already, everything is gonna be much harder.
Lots of remedials, lessons and stuffs, you must really learn how to manage.
Don't slack too much like this year okay?
I know all of you can do it. Jiayou!

And also after you meet your new friends, do not forget the old ones.
If possible, I hope 2e5-ians will still go to the fitness corner on the 1st day of school.

Post-Exam Activities.

As all of you know, the rest of the days will be Post-exam activities.
And some of you might not know what activities we'll be having,
the details and what to bring etcetc.
I shall write it here to clear all of your questions. [:

20/10/2008 (Monday)

There will be a scuplture competition and you're suppose to use recycled
materials to make a scuplture.
And the scuplture must be related to saving the Earth etcetc.
You can bring newsapapers, magazines, any recycled materials.
This activity will require all of you to be divded into groups of not more than 8 people.
Which means it can be 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 or 7 people in a group.
Each group MUST produce one scuplture and its a compulsory activity.
This activity will last for the whole day and if you didn't bring any material,
be prepared to rot for the whole day, haha.

Ohyah and also remember that you have to key in your options tomorrow.
This is very important and we'll be keying in from 9.45 to 10.15.
And if I'm not wrong, we'll be doing it in Lab 1.
Remember to bring your subject combination paper and the paper which
teach you how to key in your options just in case.

21/10/2008 (Tuesday)

We'll be going to the Singapore Discovery Centre, aren't all you excited? :D
Haha, and it will be a whole day activity too.
I don't think all of you will be required to bring anything.
Maybe just a pen or pencil and a small notebook.

22/10/2008 (Wednesday)
There will be this activity call 'Many Faces, One Singapore'.
I have given everybody this paper which tells you about this activity,
read if for more information.
But for the sake of those who don't have it,
its an activity which you have to do in groups of 4 and you have to paint masks.
The mask have to represent different cultures.
You'll be required to bring paintbrushes, apron(Optional), images of
different cultures(Reference), scissors, glue, colouredpens etcetc.

23/10/2008 (Thursday)

There will be Use-Your-Hand Campaign on this day.
Please bring along your rags okay in order to clean the classrooms.
Do remember that you are NOT allow to pour water on the classroom floors.
Do remind your friends to bring their rags too.

And a few more reminders, you will be released at 12.30pm on this 4 days.
Do cooperate and bring all the stuffs that is needed.

Helloooo Humans! We're gonna have a End-Of-The-Year-2e5-Class-Bbq. I know some of you would be asking why not have a class chalet? Its not worth having a class chalet and well i'm sure not all of you would be able to stay over night. Plus the chalet+bbq pit for 3D2N is $308 excluding the food and you have to pay at least $15 and at most $2o to us. And as for the BBQ, you guys just need to pay less than $10 for it including food.

(So please be considerate to think for others if they are able to fork out $20 for the chalet, do not be selfish and thinks that everyone in the class is able to fork out that amt thank you for your understanding :)

I have not book the pit tho cos i need some suggestions on what you guys think, please let me know asap so that i'm able to book the pit and order the foood.
Here would be the possible infos of the BBQ party.

Date: 17 november. (monday)
Venue: East Coast Park.
Pit number: 26c or 28c.
Time: Late afternoon to night.
Amt needed to pay: Less than $10

Hello people! I know this blog is kind of dead already?
Nevermind, maybe its because of exam period.
But DO continue to tag when you passed by okay! (:
Anyway, its your mathematics paper 2 tomorrow.
Remember to bring calculator (Bring 2 if possible, just in case), curved ruler,
ruler etcetc.
Remind your friends to bring it too in case they forget.
Ohyah and just a few tips for your guys, I know its very tiring
now because of the exam period and we have to memorise lots of stuffs.
Remember to use your time wisely and concentrate.
You don't have to stare at your books/notes for 24/7.
As long as you concentrate, use the right technique, you can
just memorise it in a short time!
You could just take a short break after studying for 1hr or so.
Lie down on your bed and take a rest or read your favourite book
or even chat with your friends.
If you're those kind that need to study with your friends,
you could just arrange a place to meet and study together.
But of course, REMEMBER that all of you meet up to study not talk. (:
Ohyah, and of course, don't study in the kind of I-hate-studying mood.
This won't work, you're not gonna absorb anything.
Its just a waste of time.
Tell yourself that you want to acompolish memorising this few chapters today,
and that its only for the exam period that you're doing this.
Why not give it your best shot!
Make everybody proud and most importantly, you're doing this for YOURSELF.
Enough of all this, I know its getting boring, haha.
But I hope all this could help. [:

- 4 layouts and 2 colour schemes. The dateline has been extended so no worries
of not finishing it on time. (:

please think twice and quickly start your revision now.

And all this could be avoided as long as you try your best and work hard.

Hello, here to update all of you about the weekend homeworks as usual.

1) The maths worksheet given on Tuesday. I think its a paper from other school.
The first question is related to Sets & Notation.
2) Geography Worksheet given on Wednesday. The first question is asking
about if our school is a scarced piece of land, something like that.
3) Maths EOY Paper 2007, given on Thursday.
Mrs Wong say shes either going through it on Monday or Tuesday depending
on how fast she can finish the other papers. So, finish it by Monday just in case
4) Maths(AGAIN -.-) Ex11b, Q5, 15 and 16.
5) 5 observation drawings + development for process diary.
Thats all, I guess. (:

And plus a few reminders:
-Bring your protractor, string, ruler and calculator on 22/9(Mon) as

HOLIDAY HOMEWORKS

1) The Art worksheet whereby we must draw the shapes and stuffs.

Hello! Back once again to let you all know some important stuffs.
Hope all of you will visit the class blog more as I might update on some important stuffs.
Firstly, Mrs Ong says the literature performance thingy WILL BE POSTPONED
as shes not free on Monday. So, please tell other classmates too or it will be a
wasted trip on Monday and maybe waste of sleeping time too, haha.
I'm not sure when it will be postponed to but if I know, I will keep all of you updated.
Okay, secondly, Ms Chong has written a letter for 2E5 and I'm gonna paste it here.
I will print it out too and paste it on the noticeboard so that all of you will have a
chance to look at it too. Here goes :D

Dearest 2E5,
Hey guys! How are all of you doing? It’s been a long time since I left and just had the urge to write to you guys. Genuinely hope that you guys still remember me! Because I do and I miss you guys!

For those who want to know (Now I know jokers like Omar would say no I don’t want to), I’m currently studying in NTU, School of Communications and Information. School life has been great and I’m really enjoying being a student once again! (No! I’m not kidding!)

Anyways, your examinations are nearing! I hope you guys are dong your revision by now! I have lots to study tooL!! I’m so glad that great teachers are taking over your class. All the while that I was teaching there, I felt really inadequate because I really don’t know how to go abut teaching you guys and I feel guilty when I see your potential and eagerness to learn.

I know that your grades weren’t fabulous when I was around and may have affected your learning process even up till now. My apologies for that and I really want to encourage you guys to keep going. I had relief teacher when I was a secondary school kid too and I totally blamed her for my lousy grades. But that did not stop me from working hard because I knew I had to.

I know many times you guys will think what the hell am I studying this for when I know I’m never going to be a teacher, mathematician, scientist or whatever. I’m not going to sugar coat it and say that whatever you learn now will be relevant. But what you feel about your subject are not going to change things, so why not work hard for it, pass this stage, and clear it once and for all. You have nothing to lose.

Of course, when I mean work hard, I don’t mean STUDY ALL DAY LONG. Haha. Please don’t kill yourselves ok. Engage yourself in recreational activities MODERATELY. And GET SOME SLEEP.

On a lighter note, I noticed some changes in your class, like love blossoming (winks) hahaha. Do remember to not let that kinda thing ride over everything you’ve worked for for the past 2 years or so. BE a responsible girlfriend/boyfriend and encourage your significant other as he/she works hard too!!!

Okay, I shall stop my ramblings here and do my tutorials soon. Pardon me for my poor grammar here (actually I can’t be bothered..please don’t let your English teacher see this if not I DIE AH. Hahaha) Okay work hard k guys!

So, did you enjoy the Teacher's Day celebration today?
I hope you do and have enjoyed eating all the stuffs too, haha.
Don't you agree that the cakes are very delicious? (:
Firstly, wanna thank everybody cause you've cooperate and came for the party.
If not, it would be a very quiet one and it won't be like a party anymore.
This surprise party is counted quite successful as Mrs Wong and Mr Zaid are
quite happy with the party.
I hope this will make the class bonding stronger and we shall organise more
outings together, okay? (:

Sorry for not posting for such a long time, a few stuffs to update.
Firstly there will be no tests next week (I guess), aren't you glad, haha. :D
Anyway, there will be letter writing next week for chinese pupils.
Remember to bring along your dictonary too, not very sure what day it is.
But just bring it on Monday in case the letter writing is on Monday.
Secondly, about the homeworks.
There are 3 homeworks, erm, actually 2.
1) The Algebra maths worksheet that I've given out on Friday
2) The Art worksheet whereby you have to draw the patterns and stuffs.
3) The english formal letter writing corrections. For those who ran off without
passing it up yesterday, haha! Example: Me (OPPS!)
Ohyah, and also remember to sign the maths test which Mrs Wong just gave
us back, remember okay!

Next I'm gonna write about the process diary(Art).
For the sake of those who did not copy down the informations.
Art EOY 2008
- Question Paper will be given out 3 weeks in advance.
- Preparation for Process Diary
- Final work on the Day of Exam
- They will only provide A3 Size paper on that day so for those who
want to colour or paint or whatever, please bring your own colour pencils.
And as what Ms Candy have say, please draw bigger on the A3 size paper.
Since you have such a big piece of paper, its better to make full use of it.
- Submit Process Diary with Final Work

Process Diary ---> 60%
Final Work ---> 40%
This shows that process diary is very important!

And thats what the process diary will contain, here goes:
- Introduction
- Mindmap/ Wordlist
- Observational Drawing (At least 5)
- Development Sketches
- 4 layouts
- 2 colour schemes
- Not more than 5 A4 size paper (But can use double side)
Theme: 6 choices, choose one.
And during the exam day, you can make changes to your final work but
only minor changes allowed! So make a good decision on what to draw.

Alright, for next week's test once again.
12/8(Tuesday) - Science Practical Test.
13/8(Wednesday) - Geography Test, you will be tested on Unit 11 and 12.
And also there'll be unseen poem too, if I'm not wrong.
15/8(Friday) - History Test, testing on Chapt 6 and 7 but chapter 7, you will
be tested till 'Maria Hertogh Riots'.
And also there will be chinese test, testing on Chap 18, 19, 20 and also the storybook,
page 60 to 77.
Thats all for the tests next week.

And another few reminders.
Those groups who haven't presented their literature play to Mrs Ong,
please remembered to stay back after school next week.
I don't know which day so do check with Mrs Ong.
As well as the PW, finish up or touch up on your powerpoints as we have to present it
next week during PW lessons.
Remember it do holds some marks for our literature or english. (Not sure which one)
As for today's homeworks, there are 3 of them.

Back as promised! (:
Okay, now for all the tests, exams and stuffs.
On Monday(28/7), there'll be maths remedial for those we did not do well for the
previous maths quiz and MYE.
The remedial will start at 2pm and the latest, it will end at 3.30.
Then tuesday(29/7), there will be a maths test.
You will be tested on Graphs, volumes on cone and pyramid.
Most importantly, memorise the formulas.
As for Wednesday(30/7), there will be oral for chinese students.
It will start at 2.10 and end at latest, 5.30.
Lastly, thursday(31/7), there will be a science test.
You will be tested on Chapter 6 and chapter 8.
Chapter 8 will only be tested on Reflection and Refraction.

Here to update the class blog again before it dies. Hahas.

Details on Class Outing.

Hey all! Do remember that our class outing will be tomorrow, 29may thursday at downtown east. we will be watching the chronicles of narnia, show time of 4.10pm it will end at about 6.35pm, so the class would be meeting at 3.30pm. just call either zoey,edna or me when you have reached the place (:

how to get there.
1) you may take bus 3, 5, 6, 12, 17, 21, 89, 354, 358 from pasir ris interchange.
2) you can choose to walk to downtown east, its only a 10 mins walk from pasir ris mrt station.
3) you can choose to take the shuttle bus from pasir ris mrt station the timing are as follow:
1.45pm 2.15pm 3.15pm 4.15 pm.
4) if you are rich like derrick, you can always book a taxi down to DTE! :D

Alright, firstly our exams are so over and its time to do the mock streaming excerise thingy tmr. make a wise decision and dun regret choosing it though its just a mock excerise (:

its our final paper tmr guys, we can do it yeap? (: after 9.30 we are free from the pathetic midyear exams. and its time for funzx!
